Handsworth Roadhogs Grand Prix Competition


The club Grand Prix Competion is a series of pre-selected race events throughout the year. Club members score points for taking part in these events to compete for the Grand Prix Trophy- for more information, please follow the Grand Prix Rules link below.

  1. The competition will run from 1st of March to the 30th of November.
  2. When entering a race you must be entered as ‘Handsworth Roadhogs’ your result can then be found when published. Parkrun’s make sure your listed as Handsworth in your profile . If you don’t enter as Handsworth then the result will not be counted.
  3. Club colours must be worn for all races , unless running for charity , results will not count otherwise.
  4. 40 points will be awarded for 1st male/female place in a race, 39 for 2nd etc. Parkrun results will be the WAVA age graded result.
  5. Best 10 results from the list of qualifying races to count.
  6. Bonus points will be awarded as follows 
    •    5 points for running or volunteering at the Handsworth Hobble
    •    5 points for running or volunteering at the Waverley Dash
    •    5 points for running (or sub) for Handsworth in the Rother Valley Relays 
    •    5 points for representing Handsworth in at least 1 inter club cross country
    •    5 points for participating in Round Rotherham run (relay or full)
  7. Only fully paid members of Handsworth Roadhogs can compete in the competition (1st and 2nd claim members qualify). All members will be automatically entered into the competition, anyone not wishing to participate please let me know.
  8. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for male and female will be awarded at the annual presentation evening.
  9. Results will be hopefully published after each event.
  10. If an event is cancelled this will be voided from the competition.

Few more events this year to give people opportunity to compete in as many as possible. The format will be best 10 results to count from the list below, plus bonus points earned.


Grand Prix competition is available to all 1st claim members (only need to notify me of marathon results! Thanks.)
2nd claim members are also able to compete, but please inform me of any events entered and result thanks.
Separate Ladies and Men’s competitions.
In the event of a tie the number of head to head victories will count.
If an event is cancelled then that will no longer count towards the Grand Prix.

Please wear club colours for all events.

40 points for a win, 39 2nd and so on.

Bonus points

5 bonus points for competing/ marshalling etc. in inter club cross country 1 event
10 bonus points competing/marshalling in inter club cross country 2 or more events .
5 bonus points competing / marshalling in Handsworth Hobble.25/06/24
5 bonus points competing/ marshalling Waverley dash.( TBC)
5 bonus points competing in Rothervalley relays.

(2nd claim members cannot earn bonus points in competitions where there 1st claim club is competing).
